The European Pencak Silat Federation organised a Sports Silat (Tanding) training camp for European athletes, from 21-23 October, in Wellbing, Germany. The training course was led by Pak Surhartono Hartono, one of the foremost Tanding coaches worldwide, and Head Coach of the Thailand National Pencak Silat Team.

European Pesilats training in Thailand

In a pilot project, the European Pencak Silat Federation organised a course to upgrade the Tanding skills of European athletes in preparation for World Championships in Bali 2-9 December. The training with the Thai national team was open to pesilat from all EPSF member countries, for sessions of either one or two weeks.

Pencak Silat World Championships 2015

Seven European nations entered the 16th World Pencak Silat Championships, earlier this year, pitching 23 of their finest fighters and artistic performers against competitors from South East Asia, Central Asia, & across the World. From the Member countries of EPSF at the Championships: Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Russia, Spain, The United Kingdom & Ukraine, The Netherlands took the lion’s share of medals for the European competitors, with a total of five Bronze Medals.
